I think one of the most satisfying aspects of landscaping/gardening is the visual proof of one's work. Even an hour or two of weeding and pruning makes such a difference. The before and after images are evidence of a job well done.
I'd like to invite you to check out The Backroads Traveller, a photo blog by my dad, a career nurseryman. I'll point you to his posts about plants and gardening, but he has many, many pictures of the rural areas and small towns of Western New York and nearby that I hope you would enjoy.
These are fantastic. But, you are supposed to make the 'before' pictures look as bad as possible -- some of yours don't look so bad. Architecture magazines will show 'before' photos in black and white to make them look as terrible as possible. Ray
